Anita Loughrey was a primary school teacher for seventeen years before becoming a full-time freelance writer in 2002. She has extensive knowledge of the Key Stage One and Key Stage Two National Curriculum, the Literacy Strategy and the Numeracy Strategy. She has compiled various photocopy resources with teachers’ notes explaining how they can be best used in the classroom and has worked with editors to produce text and ideas. 

She enjoys research and her main interests include environmental issues, wildlife, myths and legends, history, primary science and technology.

Her writing credits include, a series of literacy homework textbooks published by the Homework Book Company, photocopiable literacy and history teacher resources for the web-based publisher ZigZag Education, a book of plays for Hopscotch Educational and a series of photocopiable history resources for A & C Black.
