Brian Williams

I’ve written getting on for 200 books for children and adults, some of them co-authored with Brenda (Clarke/Williams).  With a publishing background in information  (as managing editor, and consultant for Britannica and World Book), I have wide-ranging interests but currently I write mostly biographies and history – with diversions into inventions, aviation, sport, and quizzes (books and TV).  I’m also consultant and writer for the BBC Schools Primary History website.

Current projects

BBC schools history website – biographies and ancient history.  History and heritage guides for adults (recent titles include Life in a Wartime House, Secrets of the Bayeux Tapestry and Britain’s Prime Ministers).  Books on contemporary issues, such as The War on Terror, and War Stories from history.  Not forgetting more light-hearted stuff as Murders and Mysteries, Secrets and Scandals.  Since Brenda works with KS-1 children, we have a shared interest in  information books for early readers.
