I’ve written over 150 books for children and adults. With a publishing background in encyclopedias, I have wide-ranging interests, but write mostly biographies and history – with diversions into inventions, aviation, natural history, sport, and quizzes (books and TV). I’ve been a managing editor, and latterly contributor and consultant, for Britannica and World Book. I’m also consultant/writer for the BBC Schools History website.
