Mark Levesley

I initially started out as a research scientist, and have a PhD in genetics, but I soon found myself in teaching. Having taught for a number of years, I was asked to contribute a few pages to a science text book. And my writing career started from there.

I have also series edited two series of science text books, including the hugely successful Exploring Science.

I gave up teaching a few years ago but still very much follow the developments in the teaching of science in schools. I also take photographs for many of my publications.
