I am an
experienced author and illustrator, with many children’s books published on a
range of non-fiction subjects for all ages and in various formats. I am
delighted to research and write on any subject, although my main areas are the
arts (practical, design, crafts, history), biography, history, animals, health
and science. I am happy to work on individual titles or complete series.
I began as a
copywriter for Saatchi’s and have an MA in the History of Art by Research. I
write web resources and teachers’ and students’ packs and booklets for
museums and galleries, including the Museum of London, Tate, V&A and Royal
Academy. I write adult non-fiction books and articles and have been a consultant
on several other books. I am a qualified teacher and teach and hold workshops in
both primary and secondary schools. I give many talks and lectures on a variety
of subjects to a wide range of audiences, from a literacy seminar for local
primary schools to the Royal Academy Teachers’ Summer Conference.
